About Me
My name is Erin Crossman. I have always loved animals and have spent all my employed years with them. I started a job with horses when I was only 13 years old. In 2000 I started working at a small animal hospital learning many skills including grooming.
I am a graduate of York University, graduating with a Specialized Honours degree in Visual arts. My degree was in painting and drawing but I have since transfered my education as an artist to photography. I am happy to be using my photography for portraits of both animals and people. I love being able to capture the right expression and feeling.
I got my first dog in 1997 and the rest is history as they say! I have been competing in dog sports since 1999. I have trained all my own dogs and competed in flyball, disc, agility and sheepherding. I competed with my border collie Zephyr until he was 12 1/2, retiring him in 2014. I started to trial my border collie Zen in 2013 and hope to get into the ring with her a little bit more in 2017. I did compete with my border collie X Chase until he was retired in 2009, and unfortunately he passed away in 2010. Rough collie Kirya completed my "pack" but passed away September 2011. I have added a new border collie named Timber to my group and he is currently in training.
I have been a part time dog training instructor with Scholars in Collars since 2003. I trained weekly with top agility handler Anette Hoegl until she retired from agility and teaching several years ago. I am always continuing my own learning and education through clinics and seminars in agility, behavior and physiology. I have attended seminars with people such as Chris Zink, Suzanne Clothier, Jessica Martin and Joan Weston.
